 (2/20) Day 16: Introduction to Summary Critique II

Task 1: Review of Introduction Paragraph (10min)
To start, we will work on// take a look at student samples of the introduction paragraph by Carl Singleton (2010). We want to pay attention to the introductory sentence, reporting verbs, and +- Thesis statement.

Task 2: Body of a Summary Critique (20 min)
Slides 22-28.  Now, we will take a look at the body structure of a Summary Critique. Please continue to follow along on the handout from the last class as we go over the remaining slides. Again, please feel free to ask questions. At the end, I will have you share your handout answers with the class. 

In your groups, discuss what elements of Singelton's (2010) article you would critique.


Task 3: Discussion on Articles #1 and Content (20 min)
We will be taking the last part of today’s class to ensure that students understand  the first part of the summary critique assignment and comprehend main ideas of research conducted. You may click HERE to follow along as we discuss the research conducted.

*Student Work should be posted HERE in the google doc according to your number.
