(1/18) Day 3: Diagnostic Exam

Part I: Introduction to Exam (5 min)

• Attendance/Eligibility to take exam (you must have taken the EPT)
• Reiterate the purpose

Part II: Administering the exam (50 min)
No use of cellphones, internet, or translators permitted during exam. Paper will be provided for note-taking Before we begin, everyone needs to have a shared dropbox folder with me. Share your folder with me via the following email: bdivine@illinois.edu

1) Open and save a word document to your desktop labeled, ESL501J1_FirstnameLastname (e.g. ESL501J1_JimBrooks).

2) Read the article and prompt question.

3) Write until instructor indicates it is time to stop.

4) Upload document to your shared dropbox folder.

5) Once you have confirmed that your document is located in the shared folder, you may be dismissed for the day.

6) MODIFICATION OF THE ESSAY AFTER CLASS IS PROHIBITED.


Part III: Looking Ahead
Please note that we will not be having class on Monday due to the holiday. Also, I will be adjusting and adding to the course syllabus over the weekend as to give you a better overall idea on assignments and due dates.  Students who would like to access materials from last semester's course can go HERE. Note, however, that many course assignments/materials will be different this semester.
