(W 1/30) Thesis Statments Part II


Lesson Objectives:
  • Review key elements needed in a thesis statements
  • Analyze weak/strong thesis statements identifying weaknesses/strengths
  • Work to improve our own thesis statement through reflection/alternations



Part: Drafting a Thesis (15 min)
We will be looking to the handout (Hacker & Sommers, 2012) from last class regarding drafting a thesis to help us get started with our revisions.

Part II Worksheets in pairs  (15 min) 
Click HERE to access a worksheet that you will complete in pairs. We will then go over as a class together. Do not look to the answer key below until directed to do so.


Part III Begin homework for Friday (20 min)
Click on (2/1) Thesis Statements under unit one and begin the writing assignment for Friday. I will circulate taking questions/providing assistance if needed.

Homework:
Complete the Thesis Statement assignment and upload to dropbox before the start of Friday's (2/1) class.
